Losing our marbles: strange projections

Images don't necessarily need to be flat. In fact, the 360-degree panoramas that we create are quite strange in that they are a rectilinear image rendered in a 2x1 aspect ratio with a horizontal field of view of 360 degrees and a vertical field of view of 180 degrees. Wrap this around your face and you have a spherical image!


There are other ways to output these spherical images depending upon the intended use. One that I quite like is the mirrored ball reflection which I have created here for no apparent reason other than they look quite cool. They look a bit like marbles.
